JANUARY 2016 Webinar - presented by Felipe de J. Legarreta, PhD

What does the Jubilee Year of Mercy and Pope Francis insights of mercy have to offer our chaplaincy ministry?
Presented by Felipe de J. Legarreta, PhD

Program Summary

As you know the Catholic Church entered on December 8, 2015 the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. In his Misericordiae Vultu, the Bull of Indiction of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy and other writings, Pope Francis provides us rich teachings on mercy. Felipe Legarreta will share some of these insights, and potential implications for our chaplaincy ministry.

Program Objectives

  1. Participants will acquire an overview of Pope Francis’ Christology and Ecclesiology nurtured in the Jesuit traditions and in his pastoral experience of working with and for the poor.
  2. Participants will delve into the historical and biblical traditions of the Jubilee Year.
  3. Participants will develop their skills as chaplains, inspired and challenged by Pope Francis’ Prophetic call to Mercy. In this way participants will become more attentive to and empathetic with those who suffer in order to bring and share hope and compassion.
